
Rahul Gandhi walks out of House panel meet on defence as chair denies discussion on LAC

Rahul Gandhi and other Congress MPs walked out of the meeting of the Parliamentary Panel on Defence after his demand to hold a discussion on the security situation on LAC was turned down by the chair.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other MPs of his party walked out of a meeting of the Parliamentary Panel on defence on Wednesday. Sources said during the meeting, Rahul Gandhi had demanded a discussion on the prevailing security situation on the Line of Actual Control but the chair denied permission for it. He then reportedly demanded the meeting to be reconvened, but this demand too was turned down. Following this, he and other Congress MPs walked out.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
