India Today
Indian-American journalist Fareed Zakaria, in an exclusive interview with India Today, talked about how Russia underestimated the Ukrainian as well as global resistance.
While talking about the various sanctions imposed by the United States and its ally countries on Russia following the Ukraine invasion, Indian-American journalist Fareed Zakaria said that President Vladimir Putin underestimated the Ukrainian resistance as well as the global resistance.
During his exclusive interview with India Today, it was being discussed about how the war started there were impressions that Russia invading Ukraine could lead to other countries' autocracies like China having similar imperialist admissions walking into Taiwan or other countries.
When asked to Fareed that if he thinks that the last 50 days have been a wakeup call to some of the autocracies that if you do so, the world will be raging against you, he said, “I think a lot depends on how this goes. I think if the Russians just show that, through sheer force and brutality and viciousness and staying power, they are able to prevail in some sense of the world, I think that, sent one message to China and the world that this is going to be very tough and there is going to be a lot of international opinion against you but it means that you are raising a doubt that you can use every men and weapon that you have and you will win, sure, but the cost will be too high”.
