
Puri-bound express train catches fire near Maharashtra's Nandurbar

A fire broke out in the pantry car of the Gandhidham-Puri Express train near Maharashtra's Nandurbar station on Saturday morning.
A fire broke out in the pantry car of the Gandhidham-Puri Express train near Maharashtra's Nandurbar station around 10:30 am on Saturday. All passengers are reported to be safe.
The blaze had been reported from the pantry car of train bound for Puri (Odisha) after it departed from Nandurbar station.
“Immediately, a fire brigade was called. Fire extinguishers from the station and train (were) being used to douse the fire. The pantry car was separated from the train. All passengers are safe and sound,” the railways ministry said in a statement.
The train comprises of total 22 coaches and the pantry car was the 13th coach. The pantry car had been separated from the train.
A medical team and other paramedical staff were immediately rushed to the site. Senior Railway Officers rushed to the site to take stock of the situation.
The fire has been doused and no casualties have been reported, the Western Railway said.
