On Tuesday morning, Punjabi folk singer Buta Mohammad joined the BJP in Ludhiana. However, a few hours later, he was seen with former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh in Chandigarh, thereby kicking off a controversy.
On Tuesday morning, Punjabi folk singer Buta Mohammad joined the BJP in Ludhiana in the presence of Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and other party leaders.
However, a few hours later, Buta Mohammad was seen with former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh in Chandigarh, leading to much confusion. Captain Amarinder Singh, who recently floated a new party called Punjab Lok Congress, inducted several new members into his party on Tuesday.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
