Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reached slain singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s home in Mansa district on Friday while locals held strident protests against his visit.
Amid heavy police deployment, Mann called on Moose Wala’s parents to express his condolences over the singer-politician’s violent death on Sunday, days after his security cover was withdrawn by the state government.

Earlier in the day, protesters had blocked AAP MLA Gurpreet Singh Banawali from entering Moose Wala’s residence. They had also raised slogans of “Aam Aadmi Party Murdabad” and “Aam Aadmi Party ne mara tha (AAP killed him)”.
Senior officials of the administration and the police reached the spot of protest to restore calm. District Commissioner of Mansa Jaspreet Singh said Moose Wala’s family was “cooperating” and had agreed to meet with CM Bhagwant Mann.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
