As per sources, Punjab CM Amarinder Singh called Sonia Gandhi and expressed his dissatisfaction at not being kept in the loop regarding the legislative party meeting on Saturday. He said he would step down as CM if the Congress continued to sideline him.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh called Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Saturday and expressed his dissatisfaction at not being kept in the loop regarding the Congress legislative party (CLP) meeting to be held on Saturday. He said he is not interested in continuing as the chief minister if the Congress continued to sideline him, as per sources.
On Friday night, senior Congress leader Harish Rawat had informed that the party had received "representation" from many of its MLAs in the state to “immediately convene” a CLP meeting, which will take place at the Punjab Congress' headquarters in Chandigarh at 5 pm.
