
Pune police book Kalicharan Maharaj, others for making 'provocative' speeches

A case was filed against religious leaders Kalicharan Maharaj, Milind Ekbote and others for allegedly making provocative speeches last week.
Pune police registered a case against religious leaders Kalicharan Maharaj, Milind Ekbote, Nandkishor Ekbote and three others for allegedly making provocative speeches during a programme organised by Samast Hindu Aghadi on December 19.
Earlier, police in Raipur had filed an FIR against 'Godman' Kalicharan Maharaj for using derogatory words against Mahatma Gandhi and hailing Nathuram Godse for killing the father of the nation.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
