The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) on Thursday said that farmers in Punjab had no 'concrete information' that the convoy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would pass through the flyover where they were protesting. It also said they got the information after the Prime Minister went back.
Ten farmers organisations' affliated to the SKM had staged a symbolic protest against the arrest of Union MoS Ajay Mishra Teni, whose son Ashish Mishra is an accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case ahead of PM Modi's visit to Punjab on Wednesday.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
