CBC
Students, and staff at the Robert Service School in Dawson City, Yukon, were forced to evacuate after a leak was discovered at a propane tank located just outside of the building.
The school's principal Helen McCullough notified parents of the situation via email Wednesday morning.
"Due to an outdoor propane leak at RSS (Robert Service School), we have had to evacuate students to the muster points of The Curling Club (K-7) and The Arena (8-12)," the email read.
"Highways and Public Works/Property Management and the Fire Chief are on site, and the leak has been stopped."
The email went on to say classes were cancelled for the day and an update would be provided later on whether the school will open on Thursday.
CBC News reached out to Yukon's Department of Education for more information, however nobody was available for an interview.
