
President Kovind takes stock India's naval strength in 12th fleet review

Supreme Commander of the armed forces President Ram Nath Kovind is reviewing the Indian Navy’s fleet. INS Visakhapatnam and submarine INS Vela are part of the 12th Presidential Fleet Review.
President Ram Nath Kovind, the Supreme Commander of the armed forces, is reviewing the Indian Navy’s fleet on Monday, February 21, in Visakhapatnam. The 12th Presidential Fleet Review kicked off with a 21-gun salute.
During the review, the President takes stock of the strength of the Indian Navy’s fleet. The review will also feature a flypast, with several advanced aircraft, such as MiG 29-K, showing their prowess.
The latest inductions in the Indian Navy, warship INS Visakhapatnam and submarine INS Vela, are part of the Presidential Fleet Review.

President Kovind is reviewing over 60 warships and submarines and coast guard submarines from the Presidential yacht, INS Sumitra. The President’s Yacht is an indigenously built Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel, INS Sumitra, which will lead the Presidential Column.
A 40-nation naval exercise, ‘Milan’, will follow the review from February 25.
The first such Presidential Fleet Review was held in 1953.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.
