Election Commission of India announces schedule for Telangana Legislative Council elections, including nomination and voting dates.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday (January 29, 2025) has announced the schedule for conduct of elections to two Teachers’ and one Graduates’ constituencies of the Telangana Legislative Council.
The term of the incumbent members T. Jeevan Reddy of Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ constituency, Kura Raghotham Reddy of Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Teachers’ constituency and Alugubilli Narsi Reddy of Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ constituency is set to expire on March 29. The commission in its schedule released on Wednesday said the notification for the election would be issued on February 3 and February 10 would be the last date for filing of nominations.
Nominations would be scrutinised on February 11 and February 13 would be the last date for withdrawal of nominations. The election would be held on February 27 from 8 am to 4 pm and counting of votes would take place on March 3. The Commission said that the model code of conduct would come into immediate effect in these constituencies.
