In a major security lapse in Punjab on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy was stuck on a flyover blocked by protesting farmers for nearly 20 minutes. The prime minister was on his way to Ferozepur to visit the National Martyr’s Memorial at Hussainiwala and address a rally.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
