Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs 42,750 crore in Punjab's Ferozepur today.
With Punjab Assembly elections around the corner, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a big poll rally in the border district of Ferozepur on Wednesday. Besides the rally, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs 42,750 crore.
These project includes a new 27 km broad gauge railway line between Mukerian and Talwara worth Rs 410 crore. This rail link will also serve as an alternative route to Jammu and Kashmir linking the existing Jalandhar-Jammu railway line at Mukerian.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
