While Punjab CM Channi said that there was no security breach and no danger to PM Modi's life, BJP leader Smriti Irani claimed that the 'khooni' intent of the Congress failed at the holy land of Punjab.
A massive breach in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's security in Punjab on Wednesday has snowballed into a full-fledged political battle between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress government in the border state. PM Modi, who was on his way to Ferozepur to attend an event at the martyrs' memorial and address a rally, was stranded on a flyover for 20 minutes as some protesting farmers blocked the route.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
