
PM Modi made 'tricolour deal' with China, says Rahul Gandhi

The Centre had amended the Flag Code of India, allowing the tricolour to be made from polyester and other machine-made fabric.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday took to Facebook to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Chinese infiltration bids and alleged that the prime minister made a 'tricolour deal' with China.
"How will the prime minister, who has made a tricolor deal with China, see the infiltration of China. A true patriot is one who fights to protect every inch of the country," Rahul Gandhi said.
"China has dared to occupy the borders of our country. The prime minister has bowed before China for eight years," he added.

The Centre had recently amended the Flag Code of India, allowing the tricolour to be made from polyester and other machine-made fabric. The move was questioned by proponents of khadi as well as the Congress.
The Congress had questioned the move, saying that the replacement material would need to be imported and would end up benefitting countries like China.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
