
PM Modi, Andhra governor express grief over nine killed in road accident in Ananthapuramu district

The PM’s office and Andhra Pradesh governor expressed their grief over the road accident in Ananthapuramu district on Sunday night which killed nine people, including a local BJP leader.
Nine people were killed in a road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapuramu district on Sunday, February 6. Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed profound grief and sadness over the road accident.
The governor was briefed about the accident and that the victims belonged to Nimbagallu villagtpe in Uravakonda mandal. They were returning to their village after attending a wedding in Bellary, Karnataka, when a truck hit the car, killing them on the spot.

The office of Prime Minister Narendra Modi also issued a tweet saying, “Pained by the loss of lives due to a tragic accident in Ananthapuramu district, AP. Condolences to the bereaved families. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of the deceased.”
The deceased were all relatives. They were returning to their native village from Bellary in Karnataka when a speeding lorry rammed into their vehicle, police sources said.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
