'Pathetic Trainwreck': Trump Gives Stephen Colbert A Lump Of Coal On Christmas Eve

In full Grinch mode, the president also grumbled about late-night shows and network newscasts on his social media platform.
President Donald Trump got into the Christmas spirit early Wednesday morning by attacking Stephen Colbert and boiling over late-night TV programs.
“Stephen Colbert is a pathetic trainwreck, with no talent or anything else necessary for show business success,” wrote Trump in what marked his second-straight, wee-hours meltdown on his Truth Social platform this week. “Now, after being terminated by CBS, but left out to dry, he has actually gotten worse, along with his nonexistent ratings. Stephen is running on hatred and fumes ~ A dead man walking! CBS should, ‘put him to sleep,’ NOW, it is the humanitarian thing to do!”
Trump’s post appeared as CBS aired a rerun of the Dec. 8 episode of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on the East Coast, just hours after the network broadcast “The Kennedy Center Honors,” which was hosted by the president. In his monologue that night, Colbert reacted to a clip of Trump insisting that Jimmy Kimmel, who never hosted the Kennedy Center Honors but did appear on stage at the ceremony in 2014, was “horrible” at the gig.
“If I can’t beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent, then I don’t think I should be president,” said Trump in remarks from the Oval Office earlier this month.
“You can’t, and you shouldn’t!” Colbert quipped.
