A major construction accident in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad left more than a dozen labourers injured after an under-construction floor of a building structure collapsed on Friday. The accident occurred while work was in progress on a two-story residential building belonging to a local resident.
Labourers were engaged in laying the base structure for the upper floor when the shuttering and a section of the freshly prepared foundation suddenly collapsed.
The sudden cave-in trapped several workers beneath the rubble, triggering panic at the site. Eyewitnesses estimated that around 20 to 22 labourers were present when the incident took place.
Local residents quickly alerted authorities, prompting an immediate response from police and administrative officials from the local police station.
Rescue operations were launched without delay, with heavy machinery, including JCB excavators, deployed to clear the debris. Emergency teams worked swiftly to pull out those trapped.
The injured workers were transported by ambulance to the district hospital for medical attention.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
