32 passengers injured in TNSTC bus accident at 33rd hairpin bend, Valparai; driver loses control, bus overturns.
A total of 32 passengers suffered minor injuries after a TNSTC bus bound to Valparai overturned at the 33rd hairpin bend in the early Sunday (May 18, 2025) morning.
The police said the accident took place around 3 a.m. on Sunday when the bus was heading from Tiruppur to Valparai with 72 passenger
According to the police, Ganesan drove the TNSTC bus bearing registration number TN 38 N 3930 with Sivarajan as the conductor.
As the bus reached the 33rd hairpin bend, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Kadamparai police station, Mr. Ganesan allegedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating the turn.
The bus overturned and fell into a depth of about 15 feet. Mr. Ganesan suffered an injury on his head. As many as 32 passengers suffered minor injuries.
The police and the Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers. The injured passengers were taken to the Government Hospital at Valparai in 108 ambulances. Others were transported to Valparai in an alternative bus.
While Mr. Ganesan was admitted to the hospital for treatment, the 32 passengers were treated as outpatients.
