
OPS to Jaya death probe panel: Sasikala told me a few times that Jayalalithaa was doing fine

While addressing the Jayalalithaa death probe panel on Tuesday, AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam said that Sasikala had told him a few times that Jayalalithaa was doing fine. He said that he wasn’t suspicious of Jaya’s death and that he was only reflecting people’s opinions.
AIADMK leader and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, O Panneerselvam (OPS), while appearing before the Arumugasamy Commission for the second day, said that Sasikala had told him a few times that Jayalalithaa was doing fine.
The Arumugasamy Commission is a one-man probe panel which is investigating the death of the former TN CM Jayalalithaa.
While appearing on the second consecutive day, OPS said, “When Jayalalitha was admitted to Apollo hospital, Sasikala told me a few times that Jayalalitha was doing fine. I was not aware of the food given to Jayalalitha. Personally, I still have respect for Sasikala and hold her in high regard.
The former CM added that he did not personally have any suspicion over Jayalalitha’s death and that it was only people who were suspicious about it. He clarified the matter, by stating that he was simply reflecting the suspicions people were having.
Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa died on December 5, 2016, due to cardiac arrest. She was the first female Chief Minister in India to die while in power.
When appearing before the Arumugasamy Commission on Monday, March 21, OPS said that he did not know why Jayalalithaa was admitted to the hospital.
While addressing the Commission appointed to probe the former CM, Jayalalithaa’s death, OPS claimed, “I don't know anything about the treatment given to Jayalalithaa or the team of Apollo doctors who treated her.”

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
