Hailing PM Modi for his leadership and diplomacy, EAM S Jaishankar gave examples of Operation Ganga and Vande Bharat and also credited the prime minister's role in fighting terrorism.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and diplomacy and credited him for combatting terrorism. This country has seen what it is to have a strong national leader with a vision and what it is not and young people understand this difference, the minister said in Vadodara on Saturday.
Citing Operation Gange and Vande Bharat, EAM said leaders, ideology and beliefs matter but the thinking that PM Modi represents will be a bigger part of the national thinking. He arrived in Vadodara on Saturday with at least 50 ambassadors and high commissioners to participate in the ongoing Navratri festival.
Speaking on "Rising India and the World: Foreign Policy in Modi Era", he said Narendra Modi government's diplomacy made other countries take the issue of terrorism seriously.

"During operation Ganga in Ukraine, he (PM Modi) kept monitoring, checking. It actually has an impact on the system. I'm sure that the thinking PM represents will be a bigger part of national thinking. So hopefully there won't be any need to change it over a period of time," he was quoted by ANI as saying.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
