Osmania University (OU) officials had allegedly denied permission to the Congress party’s request to allow Rahul Gandhi to visit the campus. Recently, university sources have said that officially, no permission was denied.
Earlier, when the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) approached the university administration, they were informed about the decision previously taken by the university executive council, which had denied permission to any political meetings on the campus.
It was verbally communicated to the Congress delegation, after which, a petition was filed in the High Court against the university’s decision.

However, OU officials have denied permission, saying that political meetings are not allowed on the campus.
Meanwhile, the state Congress unit alleged that CM K Chandrashekar Rao-led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government is behind the denying permission for Rahul Gandhi's meeting with students in OU.
Congress spokesperson Sravan expressed serious concern and said, “It is shameful that the TRS Government has denied permission for Rahul Gandhi's visit to Osmania University. KCR, KTR and the company should remember that it was because of Congress president Sonia Gandhi that Telangana state was achieved and all the power being enjoyed by KCR and his family is because of her.”
