Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) announced 27 per cent reservation for candidates belonging to the Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) in state elections.
To reach out to OBC voters ahead of next year’s panchayat polls, Odisha’s ruling BJD announced 27 per cent reservation for candidates belonging to the Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) in state elections. A proposal by the Odisha State Commission for Backward Classes (OSCBC) was approved on February 26 to survey the social and educational conditions of the people belonging to backward classes.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
