
Odisha: Partial lockdown till Aug 1 in 10 districts, curbs eased in areas of low positivity

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Odisha government on Thursday extended the partial lockdown in ten districts till 6 am of August 1. The state government also announced a relaxation of partial lockdown restrictions in areas with low positivity rates.
The Odisha government has extended the partial lockdown for two weeks, till 6 am of August 1, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra said on Thursday. Addressing the media, Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra said that shops and commercial establishments in Category-A will remain open from 6 am till 8 pm every day.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
