
Odisha CM writes to PM Modi, seeks extension of free rice allocation by 8 more months under PMGKAY

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has urged PM Modi to consider extending free rice allocation for at least the next 8 months under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to consider extending the additional allocation of rice for at least the next eight months under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) for its free distribution among the beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act.
In a letter on Saturday, Patnaik thanked PM Modi for providing free-of-cost rice under PMGKAY for distribution among NFSA beneficiaries in the state from May 2021 to November 2021.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
