A nurse allegedly severed a portion of a baby's left thumb, starting from the middle and ending at the tip, while trying to remove Intravenous Line (IV) using scissors at a government hospital in Tamil Nadu's Thanjavur. The incident took place on Monday afternoon. A senior doctor performed a surgical procedure to get the severed part attached to its original position, using a stent to give it support while healing.
