
'Not a professional killer': Kolkata man surrenders to police after killing wife and injuring daughter

A 47-year-old unemployed man allegedly stabbed his wife to death and gravely injured his daughter in south Kolkata's Monohar Pukur Road area.
A 47-year-old unemployed man allegedly stabbed his wife to death and gravely injured his daughter in south Kolkata's Monohar Pukur Road area on Saturday.Arvind Bajaj stabbed his wife, Priyanka Bajaj, and his 18-year-old daughter in his residence in the Rabindra Sarobar police station area. Following the murder, he called 100 and informed the police control room in Lalbazar.
The incident was reported to Rabindra Sarobar Police Station from Lalbazar. Upon receiving the news, the police rushed to the spot where the man surrendered.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
