
No woman can be forced to work beyond 7 pm, provide free transport to those who agree: UP govt to factories

As per a UP government order, no woman can be forced to work between 7 pm and 6 am at a factory without her written consent. If she agrees to work during those hours, she has to be provided free transport and food.
In a notification issued on May 27, the Uttar Pradesh government said that no woman can be bound to work post 7 pm and before 6 am at a factory, without her written consent. Further, if a woman is working at night, she has to be provided with free transport and food by the employer.
As per the notice, factories in Uttar Pradesh have to ensure:
1. No woman is forced to work between 7 pm and 6 am without written consent.
2. No woman is terminated from employment if she refused to work such hours.
3. Women working between 7 pm and 6 am are provided transport both to and from the place of work.
4. Women working between 7 pm and 6 am are provided food and sufficient supervision.
