The air quality in Gurugram remained in the 'very poor' category for the sixth day in a row.
There seems to be no relief for the people of Gurugram as the air quality remained in the 'very poor' category for the sixth day in a row. The Air Quality Index (AQI) increased to 345 on Saturday from 324 on Friday as residents continued to face problems due to the rising level of pollution.
An official with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) was quoted by the Times of India (TOI) as saying that some relief can be expected in the coming days due to the strong surface winds. The officer said that strong winds would prevail from Sunday, dispersing toxic pollutants. The AQI in the Delhi-NCR region is likely to improve from today due to relatively strong winds and would hover in the 'poor' category.
