
No plans to reduce Covid-19 isolation period, poll body to decide on election rallies, says Centre

With respect to political rallies taking place in poll-bound states, the union health ministry in its media briefing on Thursday said that the Election Commission is the apex body to a call on election-related matters.
The Union Health Ministry is not planning to decrease the isolation period for patients who are no longer symptomatic of Covid-19, in line with the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.
The ministry also justified the hospitalisation of patients who are showcasing low or mild symptoms.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
