NIRF Ranking 2022 full list: Check top 10 institutes in India, top 3 from every category

The NIRF Rankings 2022 was released on Friday by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and IIT Madras became the top institute this year overall once again. Check out the top 10 institutes in India overall as well as the top three from every category.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released the NIRF Ranking 2022 on July 15, at 11 am, listing the top institutes and universities in India this year. The education minister went live from YouTube and Twitter to announce the seventh edition of the rankings of top institutes of India.
The top two institutes remain the same as last year in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). IIT Madras has topped the ‘Overall’ NIRF Rankings for the fourth year running while the second and third spots in the same category have been taken by IISc Bengaluru and IIT Bombay respectively.
Thus, the top three slots in the ‘Overall’ category remain unchanged since last year. IIM Ahmedabad topped in the ‘Management’ category while IISc Bengaluru topped in the ‘Universities’ category.
AIIMS Delhi is the best medical college in India while National Law School Of India University, Bengaluru, is the top law school in the country. Miranda House topped in the ‘Colleges’ category.
The top institutes and universities of India are judged on the basis of certain India-centric predetermined parameters for the NIRF Rankings. These include -- Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), Peer Perception. Each of these parametres includes sub-parametres as well.
India has over 45,000 degree colleges, over 1000 universities and around 1500 top institutes. The number of Indian institutes registered for the NIRF rankings have steadily increased over the years.
In 2020, 3,800 institutes participated in NIRF Rankings; in 2021, the number was 6000, and in 2022, the number is 7,254.
