
NIA official, Chandigarh DGP to assist with seizure of material relating to PM Modi's Punjab visit

An IG-rank official has been nominated by the NIA to assist the Registrar General of the Punjab and Haryana HC in securing and seizing records of Punjab Police and central agencies in connection with the security lapse during PM Modi's Punjab visit.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has nominated Inspector-General of Police (IG) Santosh Rastogi to assist with the probe into the security lapse during PM Narendra Modi's visit to Punjab's Ferozepur on January 5.
IG Santosh Rastogi will assist the Registrar General of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in securing and seizing records of Punjab Police and central agencies in connection with the security lapse. The senior official will further be assisted by seven officers of the NIA, including three DIG-rank officers.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
