The NIA conducted searches at two locations in Mizoram in connection with the seizure of 2,421 kilograms of explosives, the agency said.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted searches at two locations in Mizoram in connection with the seizure of 2,421 kilograms of explosives, the agency said in a statement.
The case pertains to the recovery of 2,421.12 kilograms of explosives, including 1,000 detonators and 4,500 metres of detonating fuse from a vehicle, and recovery of Rs 73,500 and Myanmar currency to the tune of 9,35,500 Kyat.
The case was initially registered by police at Tipa in the insurgency-hit state’s Siaha District on January 21 this year. The NIA re-registered the case later in March.
During searches conducted at the premises of two accused persons, incriminating documents and digital devices were seized. Further investigation is underway.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
