NIA arrests Chhota Shakeel's two aides in D-Company case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two aides of gangster Chhota Shakeel on Thursday in coonection with the D-Company case.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two aides of gangster Chhota Shakeel on Thursday. The accused, associates of the outlawed D-Company, were arrested for allegedly handling the illegal activities and financial transactions of the crime syndicate controlled by fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

Interpol issued a Red Corner Notice against Chhota Shakeel, who operates an international criminal syndicate from Pakistan. He is involved in extortions, narcotics smuggling and violent terrorist activities, officials said.

Those arrested were identified as Arif Abubakar Shaikh, 59, and Shabbir Abubakar Shaikh, 51. Both were involved in handling D Company's illegal activities and terrorist financing in the western suburbs of Mumbai.Both the accused will now be produced before the NIA special court on May 13 to seek their police custody for investigation purposes.

Officials are further investigating the case.
