
NGOs to identify school dropouts in Bengaluru slums for Covid-19 vaccination

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has approached NGOs to help them find school dropouts in the city slums for Covid-19 vaccination.
Sujith, a 17-year-old boy, had to drop out of Class 10 due to the worsening financial condition of his family following the pandemic. They couldn't manage to pay his school fees. Today, he works as a daily wage labourer along with his father.
A resident of Ambedkar Nagar slum near Koramangala, Sujith is one amongst thousands of school dropouts in the city.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
