CM Nitish Kumar said that he had never spoken about BJP bundling with 50 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar retracted his earlier statement and said that he did not say that the BJP could be reduced to 50 seats. This latest turnaround came in relation to his remarks at the national executive meeting of his party, Janata Dal-United, on Saturday. He said that the BJP will not get more than 50 seats in the 2024 general elections.

On Sunday, amid a war of words over Nitish Kumar's assertion between JDU and BJP leaders, he retracted from his comments that he made during the national executive meeting.

Following the national council meeting of Janata Dal United on Sunday, journalists asked the Bihar CM regarding his comments on the BJP. However, CM Nitish Kumar said that he had never spoken about any number. Moreover, he appeared to be more focused on building opposition unity.

"My objective is to ensure that all the opposition parties come together and we will achieve success. I don't talk about any number as such", said Nitish Kumar.

Interestingly, there was a press release that came from the JDU office on Saturday which read Nitish Kumar had said, "BJP will not get more than 50 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections if all the opposition parties come together and I am trying to achieve this."
