
NEET aspirant went missing for 6 days, his body found in canal near Kota

The deceased has been identified as Lokesh Dangi, a resident of Bhadahedi village in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, had been living in Kota for the past five years to prepare for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). His body was recovered from the right main canal near the railway culvert close to the NTPC plant in the Anta area, nearly 50 km from Kota.
A 23-year-old NEET aspirant from Madhya Pradesh, who had been missing for six days, was found dead in a canal near Anta in Rajasthan’s Baran district on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Lokesh Dangi, a resident of Bhadahedi village in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, had been living in Kota for the past five years to prepare for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). His body was recovered from the right main canal near the railway culvert close to the NTPC plant in the Anta area, nearly 50 km from Kota. Police team on the spot
According to police, locals who had gone to collect firewood near the canal spotted a body trapped between tree branches in the water on Monday afternoon. They immediately alerted the Anta police station. Officers reached the spot and retrieved the body, which was found in a severely decomposed state after remaining in the water for several days.
Family members later identified Lokesh at the mortuary based on the red T-shirt and black lower he was wearing.
Relatives said Lokesh had left his hostel on foot on February 17 and never returned. When his phone was found switched off, the family rushed to Kota and lodged a missing person complaint at Borekheda police station. Police and family members had been searching for him since then.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
