KLE Swashakti Empowerment Cell celebrates International Women’s Day with inspiring speeches, awards, and competitions in Belagavi.
KLE Swashakti Empowerment Cell for Women celebrated International Women’s Day in Belagavi on Monday.
The event organised at the KLE Convention Centre had the theme: “Accelerate Action for Gender Equality”.
It set the tone for an engaging session attended by teaching faculty and non-teaching staff from various institutions.
India’s first female blade runner Shalini Saraswathi, who represented the country in the Asian Para Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, was the chief guest. Several women achievers were honoured.
Shalini Saraswathi spoke about her life and the challenges she faced. She emphasized the importance of resilience, self-belief and also, about the need for creating equal opportunities for everyone.
She said that courage and perseverance are the key factors that help women overcome challenges with grace and determination.
Secretary of the cell Neha Dhaded welcomed the gathering. Chief coordinator Preeti Kore-Doddwad, along with other dignitaries, felicitated the guests.
