NDA Government pulling Andhra Pradesh back from the brink, says I&PR Minister Parthasarthy. The government has managed to mobilise investments amounting to ₹6.33 lakh crore in the last seven months, which is in sharp contrast to the hostile environment that prevailed during the YSRCP term, he says.
The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government had ruined Andhra Pradesh during its five-year term, and the TDP-led NDA dispensation was facing tremendous hardship in salvaging the precarious situation, Information & Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said on Wednesday.
Nevertheless, the NDA Government managed to mobilise investments amounting to ₹6.33 lakh crore, for which MoUs were signed in the last seven months. This was in sharp contrast to the hostile atmosphere that had been experienced by entrepreneurs during the YSRCP term, he said.
Addressing the media at the Secretariat, Mr. Parthasarthy said it was the confidence in Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership that prompted companies such as TCS, NTPC, ArcelorMittal, HPCL, and Reliance to make huge investments, especially in Visakhapatnam.
The NDA Government’s achievements were unpalatable for the YSRCP, hence the false propaganda unleashed by it, the Minister stated.
Further, Mr. Parthasarathy expressed regret that the YSRCP leaders were misinterpreting Mr. Naidu’s comments on the NITI Aayog’s findings on the State’s financial position, which was in a shambles before the NDA crushed the YSRCP in the 2024 elections.
He maintained that the YSRCP’s policies had pushed the State into a debt trap, recovering from which was a daunting task, to say the least. The NDA Government was striving to clear the debt that piled up to a staggering ₹10 lakh crore.
The agriculture sector, which was the backbone of the economy, had collapsed under the previous administration, mainly because the YSRCP Government abandoned the irrigation projects, he added.
