India Today
Local residents in Lucknow's Malihabad captured the blinking lights on camera.
Uttar Pradesh's sky was illuminated with a rare gleam, in what the locals refer to as 'amazing lighting'. Local residents captured the blinking lights on their cameras and shared videos on social media platforms. Following the development, the video caught the attention of netizens and some even said that the lights in Lucknow skies were 'strange'.
The video showed a trail of lights that looked like a long luminous streak. While netizens were quick to conclude that it might be a result of refraction, others deemed it mysterious and said that it was an 'act of God'. On a humourous note, a few Twitter users said that it could be an unidentified flying object (UFO).
The video was recorded by residents of Malihabad in the Lucknow district of UP.
Notably, in December 2021, similar mysterious lights were captured in Punjab's Pathankot which left the locals stumped. Prior to this, in June 2021, Gujarat's Junagadh, Upleta, and nearby regions of Saurashtra had witnessed mysterious lights flickering in the night sky, triggering speculation of UFOs.
Refuting the theory of the unnatural light sighting being UFOs, Narottam Sahoo, Advisor at Gujarat Council of Science and Technology (GUJCOST) said that it could have been a result of some satellite passing through low earth orbit.

The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party. The physical attack on him in 2025, and the Congress embracing "communal elements" pushed the Lok Sabha MP into joining the BJP. Bordoloi's exit from the Congress after three decades is significant for the party and Assam's politics.
