
Mumbai reports 290 fresh Covid-19 cases, one death in last 24 hours

As many as 290 fresh Covid-19 cases and one death were reported in Mumbai on Friday.
Mumbai on Friday reported 290 new Covid-19 cases and one death, taking the tally to 11,24,205 and the toll to 19,648, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a bulletin. The daily count recorded a slight increase as 281 cases were detected a day earlier.

On the recovery front, 298 patients were discharged during the day, pushing the recovery count to 11,02,760. The recovery rate in the city is 98 per cent.
As many as 9,202 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, taking the total of samples tested so far to 1,78,08,101. The growth rate of infections is 0.023 per cent for the period between July 22 to 28, said BMC.
The caseload doubling time was 3,090 days, as per civic data.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
