
Mumbai barge P305 case: FIR registered against captain, others for 'negligence'

The captain, along with others, have been booked on the basis of a complaint filed by the rescued barge engineer who accused them of "negligence".
The Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against the barge captain of Barge P305 which sank in the Arabian Sea on Monday during Cyclone Tauktae. The police have also formed a special team to search the captain. A case has been registered against Barge captain Rakesh Ballav and others under IPC sections 304(2), 338, 34 at the Yellowgate Police Station. Ballav, along with others, has been booked on the basis of a complaint filed by the rescued barge engineer Mustafizur Rehman Shaikh who accused them of "negligence".
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
