According to data accumulated by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the city reported 88,710 coronavirus cases in March this year, nearly 475% more cases than the previous month's infection count. In February, the financial hub had reported 18,359 Covid-19 cases and 16,328 in January this year. According to BMC's data, the city reported a spike of 70,351 cases in March as compared to the previous month and 72,382 more cases as compared to the total tally of infections in January.
