
MSP committee to be formed, now go home, says Union agri minister; not so fast, say farmers

On Saturday, Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that PM Modi has announced the constitution of a committee to look into the MSP issue. He urged the protesting farmers to "go home". However, the farmers said they need more clarity.

“With the constitution of this committee, the farmers' demand on MSP stands fulfilled. This committee will have representatives from farmers' organisations,” he said and urged the agitating farmers to “go home”.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
