
MP unemployment woes: Graduates, PG candidates queue up for jobs of peons, sweepers

As many as 11,000 people have applied for only 15 posts of peon, gardener, driver and sweeper in Gwalior District Court. Of them, many are graduates and PG degree holders.
Unemployment has taken a scary turn in Madhya Pradesh, it seems. With many losing their employment in private firms amid the Covid crisis, the security of a government job has been highlighted again. In MP, thousands of graduates and post-graduate degree holders are now queueing up to appear for interviews for the job of a peon in district courts.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
