The accused, Rajesh, and his brother, Suresh, then disposed of the body. Both of them were arrested on Wednesday.According to a report published in The Times of India (TOI), the deceased, identified as Jamnabai (75), was missing since Friday night. On Monday, her family filed a missing person's complaint and on Tuesday her body was found in a biogas pit near her house.
Her jewellery, including the silver anklets, was missing from her body. Khudel Police registered a case against unknown persons.
During the investigation, police found out that on Friday, Rajesh had asked her to give him some money. The woman refused to help and told him she did not have money.
Rajesh then asked her to give him her silver anklets, which weighed around 750 grams, but she refused.
They started arguing, which soon turned into a fight and Rajesh strangled her with his hands. Later, he chopped off her feet using a saw and took the anklets and other jewellery with him.
He called his brother and the duo decided to dispose of the body. They dumped it into a biogas pit behind their house and fled.
