Moose Wala murder case: Shooters had planned to use two women in assassination, say sources

The shooters in the Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala murder case had planned to use two women in his assassination, sources told India Today.

The accused in the murder of politician and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala had planned to use women in his assassination, sources in the Delhi Police Special cell told India Today.

The accused had planned to send two women to the singer's house, one masquerading as a journalist and the other as a cop, to kill the singer, the sources said. Police officials had recovered uniforms of Punjab police from the possession of the accused.

The accused, who were planning to kill Moose Wala, were not able to execute the murder owing to the tight security of the Punjabi singer. After unsuccessful attempts, they had planned to include two women in their gang.

During the questioning, the accused told the police officials that the idea was to send two women to Moose Wala's house and murder him.

The shooters had initially planned to send two women, one masquerading as a journalist and a police officer, to carry out a raid at the singer's house. During the raid, the remaining shooters would have barged into Moose Wala's house and murdered him, the sources said, but the plan was dropped later.

Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants on May 29 in Punjab's Mansa district. His murder occurred a day after the Punjab government curtailed his security cover. His autopsy report revealed that he died within 15 minutes of being shot at and had 19 bullets pumped into his body.
