Mom arrested after asking cops what to do about her son’s rotting corpse

A 76-year-old Japanese woman has been arrested after she asked cops what to do about her son’s rotting corpse, police said.

Toshiko Ujibe had called police Monday to the apartment she shared with her son in the Asaminami neighborhood of Hiroshima for assistance, Vice News reported. When officers arrived at the scene, they encountered a foul smell that turned out to be her 53-year-old son Kenji’s decaying remains, police said.
