Mohalla clinics lying in ruins: Delhi Congress chief

Delhi Congress chief criticizes AAP's healthcare system, claiming Mohalla Clinics lack staff, medicines, and proper facilities.
Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav on Saturday (November 30, 2024) targeted the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the city’s healthcare facilities, alleging that Mohalla Clinics are lying in a shambles due to a shortage of doctors and nurses.
Addressing a gathering during his party’s ‘Delhi Nyaya Yatra’, Mr. Yadav said former Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal had in the past promised to open 1,000 Mohalla Clinics but failed to set up “even half of that number”.
“And now, most clinics are in a dilapidated state with no doctors or medicines, providing refuge to stray cattle and anti-social elements only,” he alleged.
The Congress leader also alleged that fake pathology and radiology tests are being conducted at Mohalla Clinics, and payments are being made to private labs in the name of referrals.
