
Modi Express is for public service, what's wrong if political advantage is gained: Union minister Danve

Union Minister Raosaheb Patil Danve said people, who have taken both doses of Covid-19 vaccine were allowed to travel in the special train, and there was nothing wrong if some political advantage is gained from the initiative.
Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Patil Danve slammed Shiv Sena for taking a dig at the central government's decision to run a special train for the Konkan region ahead of the Ganpati festival. Danve flagged off a Konkan-bound train booked on FTR (Full Tariff Rate) through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation IRCTC) from the Dadar station. The FTR train is named the “Modi Express” and is likely to ferry people to the Konkan region for the Ganesh festival beginning from September 10.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
